HOW CAN YOU HELP?

MPP for Parkdale-High Park, 

Bhutila Karpoche and MPP for Beaches-East York, Mary-Margaret McMahon are advocating for transparency and accountability from the MNRF for their choice in a military-style raid over normal processes such as a site inspection, as well as scientific evidence to support their decision to execute all of the raccoons they seized.

Other MPPs will continue to table this petition at Legislature, as we continue to have more petitions signed.

We petition the 

Legislative Assembly of Ontario:

• to explain why Ministry staff conducted such a raid, if, as reported, there had been no site inspections for 18 months;
• provide full disclosure of all medical testing conducted on the 87 raccoons and explain the improbability of vaccinated pre-release juveniles, housed outdoors, all contracting the same 2014 wild-strain distemper. If such vaccine is so ineffective, why has such been a recommended standard of the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council since 2013.

• will the raccoons be released in to the wild where they belong
• who is responsible for the decisions made leading up to and on that day at Mally's

Here are some location ideas:

• outside your local MPPs office
• outside any provincial government building
• near the entrance to a park
• at a busy intersection with long red light sequences

We will provide you with large banners, 

protest signs & information handouts.

Some other basic supplies 

that we recommend:

• some sort of attention grabbing display
• seasonal candy or stickers to hand out as an ice breaker
