On November 20, 2023, an emergency motion was brought to the Superior Court of Ontario for an order to inspect and perform medical tests on the raccoons to confirm the state of their health and to ensure that they're being treated humanely. They're still waiting to hear the Justice’s decision on this application, and we're all hopeful that it will come any day now, and that these surviving raccoons will finally stand a chance against this tyrannical Ministry.

HERE ARE THE HORRIFYING FACTS WE HAVE REGARDING THE RACCOONS SINCE THEY'VE BEEN IN MNRF CUSTODY:

• 87 raccoons were inhumanely and violently seized while the MNRF executed their search warrant
• To date, no charges have been brought against any of Mally’s directors, employees, or volunteers
• The MNRF tries to cloak their choice of actions that day under the shroud of animal welfare ... but sadly, there has been no display of concern for the welfare of these animals from the moment the MNRF arrived on the property, right up until this very moment right now, and not likely until they are safe out of MNRF's hands
• OVER 40 OF THE RACCOONS HAVE BEEN KILLED SINCE IN MNRF CUSTODY ... THAT'S ALMOST F#CKING HALF!!!
• Several died within the first 24 hrs of being in MNRF custody - likely suffocating in the small traps or having heart attacks in the inhumane open transport
• 1 poor raccoon was euthanized because they broke his jaw while swabbing him for testing
  • do you know how hard you'd have to be handling a raccoon to actually break his jaw??
  • they couldn't be bothered to get him the proper treatment (National Wildlife Centre Canada just posted last week about how they recently released a wild raccoon after assessing it's broken jaw - this is not a death sentence!)
• 2 raccoons were euthanized after they bit the handlers, and then needed to be tested for rabies
  • how would animals living in an isolated environment even contact rabies??
  • were MNRF staff handling the raccoons not vaccinated against rabies?? - if so, then what is the medical emergency, and why couldn't the raccoons simply be quarantined??
  • and, just how poorly do you think those 2 poor raccoons were treated after biting these 2 jacked-up a$$holes?! ... remember the eye-witness testimony of one officer upon 'nearly' being bitten saying "Don't worry - You'll get yours!" ... my stomach churns at the thought
• The MNRF still have possession of the up to 46 surviving raccoons at an undisclosed location 
• The MNRF has refused to allow representatives of Mally’s to have access to the raccoons to confirm which ones are still alive
• The MNRF has refused to allow an independent veterinarian to examine the surviving raccoons, and witness the conditions they are being kept in
• The MNRF has refused to provide any photographs or videos of the raccoons to confirm that they are being treated and housed humanely
• The MNRF has refused to disclose what it plans to do with the raccoons
• The MNRF is stating that Mally’s (and all of us) should just take their word for it, but of course, given the eyewitness accounts of how the raccoons were collected, and the fact that nearly half have been killed already, we will most definitely remain concerned
• They're still waiting to hear the Justice’s decision on this application, and we're all hopeful that it will come any day now, and that these surviving raccoons will finally stand a chance against this tyrannical Ministry
